Accreditation
Media representatives and others planning to cover the Muskoka 2010 G-8 Summit must be registered and/or accredited and hold a valid Summits Management Office media identification or Alternative Media Centre badge to have access to the facilities. Representatives of the media and others should register only once, filling out either the G-8 or G-20 accreditation form. Only a single application is necessary to apply for accreditation to both summits.
For accreditation purposes, all media representatives and others are requested to complete an online registration form. The online registration system closed on June 18, 2010, at midnight ET.
In addition to personal data, the following information will be required to complete your online registration:
1) A recent photo (Jpg, Jpeg or Gif format):
- Maximum 5 MB;
- Facial features must be clear
- Pale background required;
- No hats or sunglasses;
- Head-shot with face covering 25% of the photo;
- Colour photos only will be accepted.

2) A letter of assignment (Pdf, Jpeg or Jpg format):
- The letter must name the applicant and his/her role;
- The letter must indicate that the applicant’s assignment covers the G-8 Summit or G-20 Summit, or both;
- The letter must be written on official letterhead, containing the news organization’s name (if applicable) and contact information, and be signed by an authorized individual within the news organization (if applicable).
3) A valid media credential (Pdf, Jpeg or Jpg format):
- The media credential must be issued by either the same media organization that has provided the letter of assignment or by a recognized professional body.
OR
- A valid passport may be provided in lieu of a media credential as long as the letter of assignment meets the required criteria. Canadian residents may provide a provincial Driver’s License or Permanent Residence Card in lieu of a passport.
4) A valid government-issued ID with Photo
Accreditation and/or registration confirmation will be issued only after a security screening is performed by Canadian government authorities and confirmed by national governments (for media only).
You may pick up your media accreditation or your Alternative Media Centre badge at the Allstream Centre, located at 105 Princes Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario. The hours of operation are as follows:
