The G-8 Summit is an opportunity for you to get engaged and have your say on the most important issues facing the world today. Activities taking place alongside the G-8 Summit are being organized for young people from the Muskoka region, across Canada and around the world.
Programs for students in Muskoka
Model G-8 Summit
On March 26, a Model G-8 Summit was held for grade 11 and 12 high school students in Muskoka and surrounding area. At this Model G-8 Summit, students played the role of world leaders and their delegations.
“My Muskoka” art competition
Kindergarten to Grade 5 students from Muskoka and surrounding area were asked to draw a poster to introduce the world leaders to “their Muskoka”.
Multimedia competition
Students in and around the Muskoka region from Grade 6 to Grade 10 were asked to use the medium of their choice (music, blog, film) to convey to world leaders what they feel are the most important issues facing youth. Several fascinating and thought-provoking entries were submitted.
